T. Lynn Smith
T. Lynn Smith (Thomas Lynn Smith) was born in Sanford, Colorado. He received his education at Brigham Young University (B.A.) and the University of Minnesota (M.A. and Ph. D.). He taught at Louisiana State University and Vanderbilt before coming to the University of Florida in 1949 as a professor of sociology. Smith was particularly interested in rural conditions and agricultural reform and did extensive field work in Mexico, Louisiana, Colombia, and Brazil.
