William Schiff
William Schiff is a retired Professor of Applied Psychology, New York University. His specialties are visual and tactual perception, and older drivers'
performances on inexpensive simulators. He has written/edited several book on perception, including "Perception: an applied approach." Houghton Mifflin, 1980; Tactual perception: a sourcebook (Cambridge Univ Press, 1982) (with Emerson Foulke), "The psychology of touch" (Erlbaum, 1991) (with Morton Heller), and The active eye stack guidebook" (with Michael Mills), (Erlbaum, 1988). He has also authored more than 30 articles and chapters in various journals and edited collections. His most recent wrritten work is autobiographical: "Growing up and getting old behind the wheel: An American auto biography." (Trafford Press, 2010). He holds AB and MS degrees from the Univ of Miami (1958, 1960), and a PhD in experimental psychology from Cornell Univ (1964).
