specialist in urban sanitation and community development, in which he worked in many locations throughout Indonesia. He prepared a Master Plan for Wastewater Management for Surabaya, the nation’s second city, and a Solid Waste Master Plan for Jakarta, the capital city. He was the coordinator (1998- 2002) for urban projects in all of Sulawesi, functioning as the primary link between 12 consultant teams assisting 41 cities and the Ministry of Public Works, the implementing agency. In early 2009 he was Team Leader for urban development plan preparation for three cities in The Kyrgyz Republic. In 2009-10 he was Team Leader for an urban improvement project in Battambang, Cambodia, and in 2012 worked in Bangladesh and Vietnam. He has worked 35 years in Asia, 4 in Africa, and 10 in the USA. Mr. Miller has assembled a personal library of some 3,500 books, including 240 histories, 193 atlases, and 110 geographies. These are the primary sources for this anthology. He also has a collection of more than 900 maps.
