Sir Roger Leighton Hall a playwright in New Zealand. Hall began his career in insurance. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1957, and began performing in amateur theatre as a hobby. He left insurance to attend Wellington Teachers’ College and Victoria University of Wellington. He began writing plays for children while teaching. He began writing for television in the 1960s. He also acted in the sketch show In View of the Circumstances. Many of his plays, series, and talks have appeared on radio, including "The Dream Factory" for the BBC. Hall's autobiography, "Bums on Seats," was published in 1998. Hall was born in Woodford, England. He attended University College School in London.
