In Deutschland wurden einerseits beim konfessionellen Religionsunterricht Konzepte entwickelt, die sich durch Öffnung und konfessionelle Kooperation auszeichnen. Andererseits hat sich auch religionskundlicher Unterricht etabliert (etwa LER in Brandenburg). Die Beiträge des Bandes geben zum einen eine Übersicht über die im deutschsprachigen Raum vorfindlichen Formen von Religionsunterricht und diskutieren deren jeweiliges Proprium und didaktische.
