Description

David Brainerd started his autobiography and diary in 1740, not for publication, but entrusted it before his death in 1747 to Jonathan Edwards who edited it and published it two years later along with his Brainerd's Journal. The latter had been written as a document of accountability to his mission board from June 1745 to June 1746. It was originally published in 2 parts under the titles of: [pt.1.] Mirabilia Dei inter Indicos, or, The rise and progress of a remarkable work of grace amongst a number of Indians, in the provinces of New Jersey and Pennsylvania ; [pt.2.] Divine grace displayed, or, The continuance and progress of a remarkable work of grace.
