In the first place it should be seen as an introduction to an exceptionally fine and varied collection of 526 old master drawings which was illegally removed from The Netherlands during the Second World War. It not only confirms the longstanding claim by the State of The Netherlands upon these drawings but also proclaims the State's intention to pursue that claim with determination.
