In April 2000, the European Asset Management Association (EAMA) commissioned Professors Franks and Mayer and Oxford Economic Research Associates Ltd. (OXERA) to extend their 1989 study of the regulation of the UK investment industry to an analysis of the European asset management business (Franks and Mayer 1989).
