Der vorliegende Teil hat die gleiche Intention wie die Nr. 2 der "Materialien zum Curriculum der west- und südslawischen Linguistik" - er ist als begleitende Textgrundlage für einführende Kurse in die historische Grammatik der serbokroatischen Sprache gedacht. Die Einteilung erfolgt vielmehr in thematischen Blöcken, hier chronologisch. Die Texte reichen bis ins 16. Jh. Mit dem "Osman" von Gundulić wurde jedoch auch ein wichtiges (oder: das wichtigste) Denkmal des 17. Jh. als Abschluß mit aufgenommen.
