Description
Pictures speak directly to us - this is how we often perceive it when we experience expressive art. They arouse our curiosity, move us emotionally, challenge our view of art or play with our perception. We feel like entering into dialogue with the works and putting words to the experience. The knowledge of experience psychology, theory of form, meaning analysis and sign theory can help us with this. In Kunstværk, udenværk og visuel kultur Anders Troelsen presents central concepts in image analysis and leads us into a visual world of medieval paintings, cartoons and vodka advertisements in addition to significant works by artists from Rembrandt to Gerhard Richter. At the same time, he shows how our perception of art is also connected to what is outside the works. Frames, titles and signatures as well as historical processes, patterns of representation and museum architecture are important for how the images speak to us - and for our conversation with them. Anders Troelsen is mag.art. in literature and exam.art. in film studies. Professor at the School of Architecture in Aarhus and former lecturer at Art History, Aarhus University Billeder taler direkte til os - sådan fornemmer vi det ofte, når vi oplever udtryksfuld kunst.
