Description

"Santa Cecilia Acatitlán is a place well known within the archaeology of the Valley of Mexico; however little is known about the explorations around the pyramid and their findings. This gap is because much of the information remained unpublished, in little-known reports or in works of limited circulation. With the intention of contribute to fill that academic breach; the present anthology gathers the existing information on the explorations and the studies on the archaeological site, making emphasis in the studies of Eduardo Payerón, a personage who worked intensively the site and its surroundings, not only from an archaeological perspective, but also from its anthropological and urban development. The work also offers an introductory study on the gathered documents and a critical reassessment of the considered works, this with the purpose of having a starting point for the development of future research on the history and archaeology of Santa Cecilia Acatitlán."
