Description
This book was a fairly comprehensive piece of legislation which dealt with statutory nusances, air and dust pollution, the keeping of animals in an unhygenic state etc. It is very similar to the Public Health Actof 1875 for England and Wales. The legislation deals with such items as blocked drain, accumulations of rubbish, keeping of animals that can cause a nuisance, some of which is still used today. Some sections have been ammended as in 1907 or replaced by Sanitary Service Acts that followed in the 20th Century. Environmental Health Officers and Local Authorites still enforce sections of this act, notably section relating to Statutory nuisances(which are defined as opposed to Common Law nuisances).
