Die expressiven Gemälde von Andriu Deplazes sind von psychedelischen Farbtönen bestimmt, in welchen der Künstler eine surreale Welt baut. Seine Motive sind der Mensch und die Natur, und die darin fast immer nackt auftretenden, androgynen Figuren erscheinen, meist proportional verzogen, als blosse, unbehaarte Hüllen. Die Natur in Form von Wüsten, Sumpflandschaften oder alles verschlingenden Urwäldern zeigt sich als abweisend, während Zivilisation, Technik oder Kultur komplett abwesend sind. Die Kluft zwischen Mensch und Natur ist dominant. 0Entfremdung, Tod und Apokalypse sind präsenter als der Garten Eden, obwohl die Bilder mit dieser Ikonografie spielen.
