Se rescata este manuscrito publicado por primera vez en el diario oficial El Peruano (1849-1850) y luego reimpreso y dedicado al presidente Ramón Castilla (1905). Es una interesante crónica de viaje acerca de la expedición realizada por Manuel Ijurra hacia el Amazonas. Fue escrita con posterioridad a su travesía y ofrece recuentos históricos acerca de la provincia brasilera de Pará, la ciudadela de Kuelap, los Chachapoyas, la minería, flora y fauna amazónicas.
