Description
This dictionary responds to a threefold wish: it intends first to establish the balance sheet of several decades of theoretical reflection, more than forty years after the publication of the Autobiographical Pact (1975) of Philippe Lejeune. It then aims to map a field of research whose extension is often misunderstood: autobiography in the strict sense, but also, and more generally, the writings of self. At a time when the mediaization of autofiction blurs the boundaries between fiction and non-fiction, it seems important to describe the specificities of the non-fictional field and to ask whether autobiographical writing is a model of writing identifiable with a few traits Or a registry that transcends generic borders. Finally, this dictionary wishes to fecundate a new theoretical impetus. It goes beyond a vulgate promoted by the academic and academic institution, constituted in canon, is not limited only to the corpus consecrated but is also interested in authors unknown, even ordinary writings. Behind the success of the autobiography is a diversity of practices and genres that share in first-person writing, which experience variable fortunes but are constantly nourishing each other: memories, memories, testimonials, diaries, correspondences Intimate, chronic ... It is a question of opening up the autobiography by reinscribing it in a broad historical continuity and within the Francophone space; The writings of self, often reduced to their mere pretension to imitate the world, are also essential supports for the renewal of literary creation.--Translation of page 4 of cover by Honoré Champion.
