Description
Very few people know that about 10 million Hindus, with a handful of Buddhists and Christians were driven out by Islamic religious persecution from the land mass that is now known as Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan). There was no reciprocal movement of Muslims from India to Bangladesh or East Pakistan. The book is principally a chronicle of the principal events relating to this exodus beginning from the first partition of Bengal in 1905 till 2006. It does not presume any knowledge on the part of the reader about the background of this exodus. It also contains an analysis on why this bit of history was suppressed, and an indictment of the 'secular media' of India for this suppression. It is one of the very few books in English on this subject. A smaller version of the book was earlier published under the title of "My People, Uprooted".
