hearing before a subcommittee of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs, House of Representatives, Eighty-first Congress, second session on H.R. 6291, a bill providing that on and after the date of enactment of this act, for pension purposes, any person who served under contract with the War Department as acting assistant or contract surgeon between April 21, 1898, and February 2, 1901, shall be considered to have been in the active military service of the United States for the period of such contract service between those dates. March 6, 1950.
