La importancia de este epistolario radica en que ambos escritores, representativos del exilio exterior e interior respectivamente, sin haber compartido las claves poéticas vanguardistas en el escenario de la España de anteguerra, consiguieron con los años confluir en un momento crucial para el cambio hacia una poesía más afín al carácter realista."
