Behavioral interventions for childhood disorders are, at last, gaining wide acceptance among child psychiatrists and pediatricians. Proven to be a relatively quick and effective method of treatment for everything from ADHD and conduct disturbances to separation anxiety and obsessive/compulsive disorders, behavioral therapy is rapidly becoming a preferred intervention strategy, both in inpatient and outpatient environments. Yet, despite their growing enthusiasm for behavioral techniques, practitioners are hard pressed to find useful guides and references targeted specifically for behavioral interventions with children in a psychiatric setting.
