Description
This monograph outlines the environmental and cultural references of the painter in the late fifteenth century and the first decade of the sixteenth century, focusing on the "system" around which was to move this great master. In addition to masterpieces by Giorgione from the major Italian and foreign museums (the Hermitage in St. Petersburg in the Uffizi in Florence, the National Gallery in London at the Galleria Borghese and Palazzo Venezia in Rome, the Louvre in Paris at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan), the volume examines the works of Giovanni Bellini, Albrecht Durer, Lorenzo Costa, Perugino, Cima da Conegliano, Palma Vecchio, Vincenzo Catena up to Sebastiano del Piombo and Titian. Exhibition: Museo Casa Giorgione, Castelfranco Veneto, 12 December 2009-11 April 2010.
