Description
Notable artist and cartoonist, Fermín Hontou (Montevideo 1956), known as Ombú, the pseudonymous used for signing of his works and for his famous political caricatures for the weekly magazine "Brecha, Ojo de Ombú" was a regular of the bar La Ronda (which continues to operate). All year, there he was sitting alone or with other people, drawing on an A4 leaf pad. Those frames of Ombu managed to build a world of some youthful impunity. This exhibition presents drawings made between 2011 and 2015 with marker, with ink, in some cases with ecoline or watercolors,of people in the bar which involve drawings and texts to add information: "pagar cuanto antes", (an allusion to Osvaldo Cibils), flirtations, commentss that someone makes to the artist ("otra vez este pesado dibujante de boliche") and phrases that are, too, titles ("Lavorare stanca", "Los hombres también 'pinchan' (discos)"), "Dreams are made of love & flesh".
