Description

Army investigator Captain Slade Moran is hunting the killer of an officer when he rides into Grey Ridge, having lost the trail of the fugitive. Fresh orders await him at Fort Grant, where he finds a hornets' nest of trouble. There has been a spate of inexplicable desertions, trouble between the troopers and townspeople, and a young lieutenant has been court-martialled and cashiered for embezzlement - though his commanding officer doubts his guilt. Description

Captain Slade Moran, US Army investigator, is on the trail of a fugitive officer when he rides into Grey Ridge. There seems to be a connection with the recent desertion of seven men from a nearby fort, connected with the recent court-martial of a young officer convicted of stealing and drummed out of the army.
