To the north and east of Vesuvius, in a semicircle within ancient Campania, stretches the Ager Nolanus, the Earth around the town of Nola, sung from the 16th century by the monograph of the scholar Ambrosius Leo. This volume reveals and brings together all the discoveries of archaeological objects and remains whose sites have been documented, in any way. The great museums of the world exhibit antique vases of Nole but they cannot provide the exact local provenance. Here, the elements of architectural decoration, the material of the tombs - vases, masks, terracotta fruits, statuettes - the dolia, amphorae, murals, sculptures, sarcophagi, mosaics or ceramics find the precise places, scrupulously identified, where they were in situ, in the center or the suburbs of the town of Nola itself or in one of the 38 municipalities that belong to its former territory. Numerous plans, photos and drawings of objects illustrate the 540 articles in this volume, each corresponding to a localized discovery, as well as three types of maps. Some locate the discoveries in each district; others result from analyzes of toponymic or hydrographic data, or clues concerning the organization of the territory, the layout of roads, boundaries and urban plans; the last series groups together the discoveries by theme, category or period - villae, concentrations of amphorae or dolia, presses, tombs of various types, hydraulic structures, finds of coins or sculptures, pre- and protohistoric periods, late antiquity, etc. These maps constitute the summaries of this work which is firmly positioned in the field of geohistory. Au Nord et à l'Est du Vésuve, en demi-cercle à l'intérieur de la Campanie antique, s'étend l'Ager Nolanus, la Terre autour de la ville de Nola, chantée dès le XVIe siècle par la monographie de l'érudit Ambrosius Leo. Ce volume en dévoile et rassemble toutes les découvertes d'objets et vestiges archéologiques dont les sites ont été documentés, de quelque façon que ce soit. Les grands musées du monde exposent des vases antiques de Nole mais ils ne peuvent en fournir la provenance locale exacte. Ici, les éléments de décor architectural, le matériel de tombes - vases, masques, fruits en terre-cuite, statuettes -, les dolia, amphores, peintures murales, sculptures, sarcophages, mosaïques ou céramiques retrouvent les lieux précis, scrupuleusement identifiés, où ils étaient in situ, dans le centre ou les faubourgs de la ville même de Nola ou dans une des 38 communes qui appartiennent à son ancien territoire. De nombreux plans, photos et dessins d'objets illustrent les 540 articles de ce volume, chacun correspondant à une découverte localisée, ainsi que trois types de cartes. Les unes situent les découvertes dans chaque quartier ; d'autres résultent des analyses des données toponymiques ou hydrographiques, ou des indices concernant l'organisation du territoire, du tracé des routes, des limites et des plans d'agglomérations ; la dernière série regroupe les découvertes par thème, catégorie ou époque - villae, concentrations d'amphores ou de dolia, pressoirs, tombes de divers types, structures hydrauliques, découvertes de monnaies ou de sculptures, époques pré- et protohistorique, antiquité tardive, etc. Ces cartes constituent les synthèses de cet ouvrage qui se positionne fermement dans le domaine de la géohistoire.
