Description
"First part is about mythical and historical women throughout the ages, such as Europa and the bull, Carmen Miranda, Jeanne d'Arc, Judith, Penelope, and Salomé. Second part is a 'calendar,' with poems that feature women/animal myths: the Sphinx, the Harpies, the Medusa, and the Succubus. Classical-style poems of a feminine universe reinvented through myths using the mirror, labyrinth, and scissors weave a textured cloth of female poetry"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
