Description
"This monograph presents theory of global attractors and of the long-time behavior of solutions of nonlinear Hamiltonian partial differential equations in infinite space. This theory was initiated by one of the authors in 1990 and was developed in collaboration with H. Spohn since 1995 and with A. Comech, V. Imaikin, E. Kopylova, D. Stuart, and B. Vainberg since 2005. The theory resulted, in particular, in the first rigorous solution of the problem of radiation damping in classical electrodynamics and in the first rigorous model of Bohr's transitions between quantum stationary states. This progress became possible due to novel application of subtle methods of Wiener Tauberian theorem and the Titchmarsh convolution theorem"--
