Description
Ein Schlüsselerlebnis für die Maler des Blauen Reiters auf ihrem Weg in die Abstraktion war die Begegnung mit den Werken Robert Delaunays, den sie in Paris um 1912 persönlich kennenlernten. Ausgehend von unterschiedlichen theoretischen Ideen erfolgte die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema der Abstraktion bei August Macke, Franz Marc, Paul Klee und Wassily Kandinsky jeweils anders. Während Macke etwa, fasziniert vom Komplementärfarbkontrast, seine Gemälde mit einer strahlenden Licht- und Farbwirkung erfüllte, setzte Franz Marc auf dynamische Formen.
