Description
Desde la conquista de Toledo, el 25 de may de 1085, hasta la decisiva batalla de las Navas de Tolosa en 1212, que abrió al mundo cristiano la conquista de las tierras de Andalucía, tres monarcas castellanos se reservan el protagonismo de vertebrar jurídicamente el actual espacio castellano-manchego. Así, el Magnus Imperator Toletanus, como se hacía llamar Alfonso VI, rey conquistador de Toledo, hasta el triunfador de las Navas de Tolosa, Alfonso VIII, rey de Castilla y Toledo, pasando por el "Emperador de toda la España", Alfonso VII, fueron los encargados de la dotación de fueros, primero a la ciudad de Toledo, después a las ciudades y villas incorporadas al, ahora, reino cristiano del Toledo, y finalmente el resto de villas y ciudades que confomaron la nueva Castilla, y que hoy vertebran el actual espacio geográfico de Castilla La Mancha.
