There was trouble coming. And it was due to arrive on the night train. The sheriff, at his remote settlement, had noticed gunmen gathering as they waited at the railhead for their boss, and the mighty locomotive speeding through the wilderness toward them. The lone lawman knew that he was no match for the deadly men, gathered like vultures. It seemed like time to run, or die, until the stranger arrived, but one look at Johnny Diamond made it difficult to tell if he was there to help, or to join forces with the lethal pack. It was time for the sheriff to find out.
