Description

The Immaculate Heart Messenger is the quarterly publication of the Fatima Family Apostolate. This 52-page magazine in full color is produced by an apostolate that has been endorsed repeatedly by the Cardinal Prefect of the Pontifical Council of the Family. It offers you the most timely and colorful magazine available today, which is in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. God wants such devotion spread throughout the world, as announced at Fatima. At the same time this magazine covers the whole range of Catholic faith and its practice as each Pope has said, "Fatima is a reaffirmation of the Gospels." Father Robert J. Fox, editor of the Immaculate Heart Messenger, offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament built by Mother Angelica, the founder of the Eternal Word Television Network, (EWTN). The Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Angels and this Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament - where Father offers daily Mass - is located near Hanceville, Alabama. Readers of the Immaculate Heart Messenger will be included in Father Fox's prayers for members of the Fatima Family Apostolate. We now present that Promise. Some may mistakenly think that the Fatima Family Promise is asking something extraordinary of them from what is normally expected of good practicing Catholics. But that is not the case. In reality, all the points listed in the Promise, while each one does not always bind under pain of sin, yet each is highly recommended by the church. Each point is a spiritual aid to living a good and balanced Catholic life. God gives grace primarily through the Mass and the Sacraments. The amount received is according to the dispositions of one's heart. For the average Catholic the daily praying of the Rosary, with meditation on the mysteries of Christ, prepares one spiritually to celebrate more efficaciously the mysteries of Christ in the divine Liturgy of the Church. Many have been baptized who do not appreciate the dignity which is theirs as a son or daughter of God incorporated into the Body of Christ. Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, properly understood, leads us to the active living of our baptismal vows and our deeper appreciation of our sharing in the divine life.
