Description

George heriot was the First Postmater-General of Canada, being so appointed just previous to the outbreak of the Revolution, and in the War of 1812 he took an active part as an officer. The history is founded on Charlevoix, the Jesuit Relations, Le Clerc, and other early travellers, supplemented by his own notes.
