Description
Covers the reigns of the sovereigns from Edward I through Henry VII, 1278-1503 (rolls end early in 1504 because Henry VII did not call a Parliament during the last 5 years of his reign). Until 1483 this series records parliamentary proceedings (petitions, bills and answers, both public and private) which formed the basis of acts of Parliament, but seldom the statutes themselves, which are in the statute rolls. From 1483 both public and private acts are enrolled in this series--National Archives.
