Description
Voor het eerst wordt het bewogen leven en de artistieke ontwikkeling van Johan Polet (1894-1971) geschetst. Hij debuteerde als 20-jarige en werd al snel in één adem genoemd met John Rädecker en Hildo Krop. Polet maakte beeldhouwkunst voor gebouwen in de trant van de Amsterdamse School en werk in de openbare ruimte. Hij kreeg belangrijke opdrachten en vertegenwoordigde Nederland op internationale tentoonstellingen. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog raakte hij in diskrediet door dubieuze politieke vriendschappen.
