Abstract: A well-referenced monograph reviews and discusses concepts and principles of the newly developed medical field of clinical ecology (CE) for both medical professionals and educated lay people. Clinical aspects and apparent mechanisms of the roles of common foods, chemicals, and other environmental exposures in chronic illnesses are addressed. Attention is given to: the fundamental concepts and historical development of CE; symptom patterns and possible mechanisms in environmental illness; and the diagnosis and treatment of environmentally induced illnesses.
