Description
"This monumental work, which has been referred to in the popular press as the "Chesser Report", contains a detailed analysis of a survey undertaken to ascertain the emotional attitude of English women towards marriage, the home and family life. This was based on questionnaires completed by no less than 6,000 married and single women approached by their general practioners. Whist being complementaty to Dr. Kinsey's work on American women it is in many ways much more comprehensive, and covers almost all aspects of human relationships including religious observance and the parental control of children. The method employed to obtain reliable data is fully described, specimens of the questionnaires are reproduced and the names of 1,500 doctors who co-operated are given. The results of the enquiry have been carefully examined by expert statisticians and no figures which are not significant have been utilized. There is a full bibliography and index."--Jacket.
