Description
Mary II Stuart werd als Engelse prinses de ambassadrice van tinglazuuraardewerk uit Delft. De opdrachten die door plateelbakkerij De Grieksche A voor haar als koningin zijn gemaakt, behoren tot het Nederlandse culturele erfgoed dat internationaal bekend is. 'Koninklijk Blauw' brengt voor de allereerste keer Delfts aardewerk van Willem III en Mary II samen in een tentoonstelling en laat daarmee de keramische rijkdom zien die volgde uit deze Nederlands-Britse verbintenis. Van metershoge bloempiramides tot tuinpotten voor oranjebomen: in de late 17de eeuw werd het mooiste en technisch meest verfijnde aardewerk voor hen gemaakt bij de plateelbakkerijen in Delft.
