Description
Book dedicated to the work of photographer Christian Cravo (b. Brazil 1974), an edition that brings together 300 previously unseen photographs, produced between 1991 and 1993 in Salvador, birthplace of the artist. Christian Cravo is the son of photographer, sculptor and draughtsman Mario Cravo Neto (b. Brazil 1947-2009) and Eva Christensen; and grandson of renowned Bahian sculptor, designer and poet Mário Cravo Júnior (b. Brazil 1923). The photographer, who spent his childhood and adolescence between Brazil and Denmark, took the photographs when he was between 17 and 19 years of age, a period which he spent with his father in Bahia, coming from a season of ten years in Europe and about to return to serve the Danish army. Since the beginning of his professional trajectory, Christian extensively documented India, Haiti and Africa. He mostly photographs the Brazilian Northeast, as a project of life. He is currently living in São Paulo.
