Description
När österrikaren Josef Frank (1885-1967) inledde sitt samarbete med Estrid Ericson och Svenskt Tenn 1934, var han redan etablerad som en av samtidens ledande arkitekter och möbelformgivare. Han startade butiken Haus & Garten i Wien och ritade bostadskomplex och villor med, som det uppfattades, egensinniga inredningar. Josef Frank var både uppskattad och omdebatterad en engagerad modernist som inte följde regelboken. Han var övertygad om att "varje människa behöver ett visst mått av sentiment for att kunna trivas; detta blir henne fråntaget, då hon tvingas ställa moraliska krav på varje sak". I boken presenteras Josef Franks intensiva verksamhetslust, som pågick under mer än ett halvt sekel.
