Damit greift das Sonderheft nicht nur zentrale Fragen der jungeren Forschung auf, sondern konzentriert sich auch auf das Verhaltnis internationaler Organisationen zu ihrer sich wandelnden Umwelt. Dazu initiiert das Sonderheft einen Dialog zwischen verschiedenen theoretischen Ansatzen (rationalistische, sozialkonstruktivistische und soziologische Ansatze) und Herangehensweisen (erklarende und interpretative Studien) und lotet das Potential der Synthese aus.--
