II, 2, p. 1268, includes the second and third editions only (1682 and 1722), the second being considered the most valuable. The fourth edition appeared in 1726; cf. also J.-C. The present work includes the first formal dismissal of Virgil’s authorship of the Culex, and other aspects of the ‘Appendix Vergiliana’, as discussed in I.
