Description
A day in the life of General Obregón aspires to be, in a way, the opposite of a biography: paradoxically, it is proposed to be a snapshot, a cut, a gaze fixed on a localized moment and loaded with meanings: the entrance of Alvaro Obregon to the city of Mexico the 15 of August of 1914 to the front of the Corps of Constitutional Army of the Northwest. Around this initial fixed photo, the text refers to other more, previous and later moments, to offer us a succession of images of General Obregon, Mexico City, its environments, people, spaces, sensations which ran the streets from mouth to mouth. And those images summoned by the words of Jorge Aguilar Mora are accompanied in the pages of this book by some of the photographic images of Álvaro Obregón conserved in the Photographic of the INAH. The result is a book that revives those days and years in the intersection of words and images, a book that feeds the memory of those who were not on the streets of the city, who did not listen to the voices that ran and commented on the political happenings and the gossip of the moment, those who never saw the buildings that had disappeared on August 15, 1914, were lying on the floor of the capital of the country and looking at the days of the Revolution.
