Description
In 'Een plooibaar talent' wordt het leven van Jan Eekhout geschetst. In 1900 kwam hij in het Zeeuws-Vlaamse Sluis ter wereld. Voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog schreef hij tientallen gedichtenbundels en romans. Vooral als schrijver van streekromans maakte hij naam. 'Pastoor Poncke' en 'Warden, een koning' werden beststellers. In de oorlog koos Eekhout voor het nationaal-socialisme. Na jaren van gedwongen stilte keerde hij terug naar zijn streek. Moeizaam probeerde hij als schrijver weer een bestaan op te bouwen. Geleidelijk raakte zijn naam in de vergetelheid. In 1978 stierf hij te Amsterdam.
