The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. began collecting artwork by the Bloomsbury artists Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Robert Fry, and Dora Carrington in the early 1980s as a natural outgrowth of the collecting and philanthropic interests of the company's founders, DeWitt and Lila Wallace.
