Description
Het werk van James Casebere, een Amerikaanse fotograaf die studeerde bij John Baldessari en het diploma van Master of Arts haalde aan de California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), wordt gekenmerkt door een sterke interesse in architectuur. In plaats van zijn lens te richten op gebouwen, bouwt hij ze na op schaal om ze vervolgens te fotograferen. Tijdens de internationale biënnale van de fotografie in Bozar toont Casebere in de antichambres van Victor Horta's Paleis voor Schone Kunsten een selectie groep beelden die huiselijke interieurs en situaties als onderwerp hebben. Drie beklemmende werken markeren de historische band tussen de kunstenaar, Brussel en België: 'Screw Device' (1991), 'Cell with Rubble' (1996) en 'Turning Hallway' (2003). Exhibition: Bozar Summer of Photography, Brussels, Belgium (17.06.2016-04.09.2016).
