Description
The State Technology and Science Index looks at 77 unique indicators that are categorized into five major components: Human Capital Investment, Research and Development Inputs, Risk Capital and Entrepreneurial Infrastructure, Technology and Science Work Force, and Technology Concentration and Dynamism. The first release of the State Technology and Science Index in 2002 spawned a growing recognition of the importance of intangibles in the economy. This updated 2008 edition builds upon the lessons learned and expands on the contributions of human capital formation and commercialization of intellectual property. The 2008 State Technology and Science Index was made possible in part through the generous support of Goodwin Procter LLP.
