The opera season of 1881-'82, under the direction of Mr. R. D'Oyly Carte, Miss Helen Lenoir, manager. The stage management by Mr. Chas. Harris. Friday night, December 23d, 1881, first production of the new and original aesthetic opera, "Patience, or, Bunthorne's Bride," written by W.S. Gilbert, composed by Arthur Sullivan. The opera was first produced at the Opera Comique, London, on the 23d of April, under the direction of Mr. Carte. R. D'Oyly Carte's Opera Comique Co.
