This character can never be presented as a set of undeniable propositions; it can only be confessed, responded to and allowed to shape our own being and response to the world. We cannot make the choice to accept God's credentials, particularly as presented in Jesus, in blind optimism. Instead, it is a commitment to know by doing, by following and by making God's choices our own and in doing so to become God's partners in the world.
