Description

Contains action photographs from the Vietnamese conflict, with terse text by the photographer, Tim Page.

Description

Tim Page has become part of the Vietnam War mythology, except that in his case the myths are reality. Twenty when he arrived in Vietnam to start his photographic reportage of the most controversial and convulsive war of modern times, he soon became identified with a particular cool, buccaneering attitude towards the war. And yet the image in this book, often captured in the most unfavourable circumstances, are glimpses into a reality which is sometimes appalling, sometimes grotesque, but always moving and human. Some of Tim Page's action photos have achieved worldwide fame and symbolize certain aspects of the war for an entire generation. Wounded five times, the last very nearly fatally, he was himself as much a war victim as the military and civilian personnel whose photographs appear in this book.
