Description
The work is published as part of the exhibition 'Two centuries of artistic life in Mons' but will be a work in its own right whose life will last well beyond the exhibition. The exhibition will present the artistic production linked to Mons between 1830 and 2020. It is a question of staging a history which is first and foremost that of artists, whether they are Mons or active in Mons, but which is also that of the City of Mons through its institutions: the Academy, the Museum and the exhibitions and fairs. Part I Artistic life in Mons in the 19th century (1830 to 1914): Denis Laoureux Section 2: Mons between the wars: Michel De Reymaecker Section 3: Mons after 1945: Denis Laoureux Section 4: Contemporary trends (1980-2020) : Christophe Veys François Liénard. Focus- The Academy of Fine Arts of Mons / ART2: 1780-1976, 1976-2020- The Museum of Fine Arts of Mons / BAM (from 1839 to 2020) - The 'Goodwill' (1895-2000): Michel De Reymaeker and Michel Jamsin- The Sainte-Waudru collegiate church, a showcase for neo-gothic: Benoit van Caeneghem Part II: Dictionary of artists from Mons (around 150 artists) Exhibition: BAM, Mons, Belgium (07.03.-16.08.2020 ).
