Abt Pietro Casaretto (1810-1878) konnte innerhalb des italienischen benediktinischen Mönchtums eine Reformbewegung anstoßen, die sich bald international ausbreitete und als Benediktinerkongregation von Subiaco-Montecassino weiterlebt. Die hier vorgelegte Studie untersucht die Entwicklung des Eigenrechts dieser Kongregation von ihrer Erstfassung aus dem Jahr 1867 bis zur Gegenwart. Die vorgestellten Rechtsentwicklungen spiegeln auch Veränderungen innerhalb des Ordens und der Gesamtkirche.
