Mit der spektakulären Rauminstallation LOST WORDS ? kuratiert von Frizzi Krella und Christhard-Georg Neubert ? verwandelte die international renommierte Künstlerin Chiharu Shiota (*1972) das Innere der Berliner Nikolaikirche in einen ganz neuen Assoziations- und Denkraum. Ein dichtes Gespinst aus schwarzen Fäden, in das Bibelseiten verschiedener Zeiten, Übersetzungen und Sprachen eingewoben sind, steht als ein Sinnbild für die globale Verflochtenheit der Reformation und der biblischen Botschaft. In ihren Installationen nutzt Shiota häufig Fundstücke, wie etwa Schuhe, Fenster oder Koffer. Zu einem Markenzeichen entwickelten sich Gespinste aus Wollfäden, die die Künstlerin in Ausstellungsräume webt.
